LLR Partners announced that John J. “Jack” Gavin has joined the firm as an Operating Partner. Leveraging his significant international operating experience, in-depth financial expertise, and extensive human capital management experience, Gavin will work closely with LLR to continue to grow the firm and expand its portfolio of business services companies.
“I’m very excited to be joining LLR Partners,” says Gavin. “I’ve known the partners at LLR a long time and am impressed by their ability to identify and expand successful middle market companies in a variety of service-oriented industries. I look forward to contributing to this initiative, and using the professional expertise I have gained managing and maximizing professional services organizations in my own career to help drive deal flow and enhance the value LLR delivers to growing companies.”
Gavin’s primary focus area will be on business services companies with high employee counts in business process outsourcing industries. This will include call center companies, facilities maintenance companies, and human capital management companies, among others.
Gavin is the former Vice Chairman of DBM (Drake, Beam, Morin), an international career management and transitions management firm, where he had previously served as Chief Executive Officer and President. Prior to joining DBM, Gavin spent eight years at Right Management Consultants where, as President and Chief Operating Officer, he guided the organization through growth of revenues from $125 million in 1996 to almost $500 million in 2003, and growth of market capitalization from $70 million in 1997 to approximately $500 million in 2004.
“Jack brings with him a long and proven track record of successful investment, leadership, and growth of business services organizations, and we’re happy to welcome him to the team,” says Seth Lehr, Partner at LLR Partners. “He is an extraordinary operator and will be crucial in helping the firm as we continue to differentiate ourselves and seek out potential investment and acquisition opportunities among business services companies in the middle market.”
Gavin is a graduate of Temple University and serves on the Boards of Directors of several publicly-held and private equity backed organizations, including Interline Brands, Inc. (NYSE: IBI); Dollar Financial Corp. (NASD:DLLR); CSS Industries, Inc. (NYSE:CSS); and GCA Services, Inc.
