LLR Collaborate Goes Virtual in 2020

September 25, 2020

While 2020 forced everyone’s event and conference plans to change, it gave us the opportunity to evolve LLR Collaborate into a fully virtual program. LLR Collaborate is traditionally anchored by series of in-person, annual forums for CEOs, CFOs, and leaders of Sales, Marketing, HR and Technology to build their peer network within our portfolio of companies and share growth insights. This year, we held more than 20 Virtual Collaborate sessions with shorter, more frequent, topical discussions for our portfolio companies to connect during this challenging time.

The level of engagement and depth of support shown across our large and small group Zoom calls was inspiring. LLR portfolio company leaders were able to lean on each other for everything from emotional guidance to actionable ideas to help address their most pressing challenges.

While these were closed door sessions for LLR portfolio companies only, here’s a glimpse at some of the topics addressed, insights shared and experts engaged.

Sharing Insights on Real-Time Issues

Who Returns to the Office, When, and What Will It Look Like? (August 2020)
12 Ways to Motivate Sales Teams and Engage Employees in Uncertain Times (August 2020)
What CEOs and HR Leaders are Saying about Reopening Their Offices (May 2020)
What CROs are Saying about Customers, Sales Teams and Opportunities Right Now (April 2020)

In September 2020, we also welcomed Thom Melcher, MD and Director of Family Wealth at Glenmede and former Chief Investment Officer for the PNC Asset Management Group, to share his perspective on the State of the Markets and Impact of the November Election on business growth.

Then, in October, LLR hosted a session dedicated to Diversity, Equity & Inclusion with Quinetta Roberson, Ph.D., John A. Hannah Distinguished Professor of Management and Psychology at Michigan State University. Dr. Robinson helped our portfolio company leaders develop a framework for understanding how DE&I and business performance are linked and start working towards their company’s DE&I goals.

To close out the year, the CEOs of LLR portfolio companies gathered one last time in December to share perspectives on 2021 planning, from financial and operations to hiring, M&A and exit preparation.

Sales leaders from across LLR’s portfolio companies connect virtually to talk about how adjust their short term sales approach during COVID and form a plan for the 2H 2020.

What’s Next

LLR will continue our Virtual Collaborate series for portfolio companies into 2021, until it is safe and practical to travel and collaborate in person again. We are developing sessions on strategic planning, employee engagement, sales forecasting methodologies, and more.
