Andrew has deep and extensive experience in education, technology, investment banking, finance and law, which he leverages to help LLR evaluate new investment opportunities and support the growth of its portfolio companies. Over the past 20 years, he has led or advised education and edtech companies in a variety of verticals—including professional development, language & literacy, special education, intervention and consumer products.

Most recently Andrew was CEO of Teachscape, where he led a turnaround and subsequently the successful sale of the company to Frontline Technologies. Previously, Andrew was CEO of Cognitive Concepts Inc. (cognitive training and language company, sold to Houghton Mifflin), Smarterville Inc. (a holding company comprised of Hooked on Phonics, Reading Rainbow and Sunburst Education, sold to Sandviks), Class.com (online courseware provider) and Lincoln National Academy (fully-accredited online high school). Andrew also owns businesses in the ELL and intervention markets, and advises and is an investor in several young education companies.

Prior to his career in the education market, Andrew co-founded an automated hyperlinking and annotation technology businesses, was a U.S. partner in a Sino-U.S. joint venture in Hubei Province, China, practiced law with the firm of Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom and was an investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin Jenrette.
