LLR Partners Invests in United Seating & Mobility to Support Company Growth and Acquisitions

February 8, 2011

LLR Partners has made a growth capital investment in United Seating & Mobility, a leading provider of complex rehabilitation products, including custom power and manual wheelchairs for disabled adults and children. LLR is partnering with the firm’s existing management team to help fund the company’s growth and future acquisitions. The firm is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri.

Since its founding in 2001, United Seating & Mobility has grown to 36 locations in 20 states and become a leader in the complex mobility industry. USM provides seating and mobility solutions for individuals with disabilities while considering the patients’ long-term needs, their work and home environment, access to transportation, and their social and emotional environments. USM provides industry leading support to its Assistive Technology Professionals (“ATPs”), allowing them to focus on the patient and the best mobility solution rather than burdensome administrative tasks.

“Bob and his team have proven their ability to deliver a critical service on a nationwide level, and we are looking forward to working alongside them as they continue to expand the business,” said Howard Ross, a Partner at LLR who will join the Company’s Board. “USM always puts the patient first and seeks to partner with its referring clinics to provide the best solution for the patient. We look forward to helping the Company grow both organically and through acquisitions.”

“We are excited to partner with LLR,” said Bob Gouy, CEO of USM. “Their experience working with growth companies in the healthcare space will provide us with a helpful perspective, as we continue to build USM. We are focused on offering our customers the best seating and mobility solutions possible along with exceptional customer service, and we see a tremendous opportunity to expand our footprint to better reach those in need of our services.”
