Biography
Mary Ann Christopher is a strategic healthcare executive and board member with a record of innovation and market expansion at payor and provider companies. She is a noted authority on transformational health care, value-based payment models and the social determinants of health. Mary Ann leverages her experience and passion for improving access to quality care to help LLR evaluate new investment opportunities and support the growth of its portfolio companies.
Most recently, Mary Ann was a Vice President and Corporate Officer at Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, where she led a broad expansion of services including the development of a statewide payor/provider system to promote payment and practice integration. Previously, Mary Ann served as President and CEO of Visiting Nurse Service New York and Visiting Nurse Association Health Group of New Jersey.
Mary Ann has served as a director on the boards of companies, universities, health plans, trade associations, hospitals, community-based behavioral health systems, and senior living corporations. Presently, she serves on the boards of LLR portfolio companies HRS and TrueLearn. She is a previous board member of MedBridge. Mary Ann was also a founding member of the Hackensack Meridian School of Medicine at Seton Hall University and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. She currently serves as a congressional appointee to the National Advisory Council on Nursing Education and Practice for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
