Biography

Richard (Rick) Riegel leverages his experience as a multi-time private equity-backed CEO in the pharma and life sciences technology market to help LLR evaluate new investment opportunities. Rick is a member of the Board of Directors at LLR portfolio company RealTime.

Rick is currently on five boards (three as Chairman) of private equity-backed companies serving the biopharmaceutical industry.  He is the Executive Chairman of Actigraph, provider of actigraphy and wearable-based solutions that support academic research and biopharmaceutical clinical trials, Chairman of Deerfield Agency, provider of agency solutions to support the marketing of branded biopharmaceutical products to health care professionals and patients, and Chairman of Beaconcure, provider of machine learning technology to automate the biostatistical processes.  He previously served as CEO and later Vice Chairman of the Board at Phlexglobal, a provider of specialized technology and expert services solutions for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry across the Trial Master File, Clinical and Regulatory processes. Rick is also a member of the Board of Directors at Syner-G Pharm Consulting and on the external Boards of Advisors of ArisGlobal, TrialBee and Gens & Associates.

Previously, as CEO of LIQUENT, provider of regulatory technology and services, Rick managed the divestiture of LIQUENT by Thomson Reuters to private equity ownership and subsequently led a successful sale of LIQUENT to PAREXEL, a leading Clinical Research Organization.
